Studying abroad has been a dream of mine since the beginning of college. I was ecstatic when I was accepted to attend Nanyang Techological University (NTU) in Singapore for my spring 2019 semester.
The education system is quite different to the traditional US college, in turn, the engineering content that is focused upon is also different. Being at NTU gave me the opportunity to take classes about digital art because they encourage cross disciplinary studies. I was also able to volunteer with one of their clubs, Concert Engineers, to handle the sound system for talent show try-outs.
Singapore is the melting pot of south-east Asia and has one of the highest population densities. There, I explored the cultures of Malaysian, Indian, and Chinese through their food and small culture districts. Singapore also catered to my love of the outdoors having many parks, trails, and gardens to explore.
I spent my 20th birthday in Thailand with two of my best friends.
Since Johar Baru is a bridge away, my friends and I spent the weekend bounding.
I took a 3 day 2 night cruise through Ha Long Bay. It was breathtaking. I also caught an octopus.
Kuching, meaning cat, is a city along the water that has a creative and colorful night life.
Off the coast of Bali on Nusa Penida, I spent multiple days exploring the island on a scooter and enjoying sunsets.
